Snoop Dogg's Daughter Loses 10-Month-Old Baby After Premature Birth
Cori Broadus, the 26-year-old daughter of rap icon Snoop Dogg, has announced the tragic death of her 10-month-old daughter, Codi Dreaux, who passed away on January 26.
The infant, born three months prematurely at 25 weeks, had spent over nine months in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) before finally returning home just 20 days before her death.
In an Instagram story posted on Saturday, January 31, Broadus shared her devastating loss: "Monday I lost the love of my life. My Codi."
A Difficult Journey from Birth
Codi Dreaux was born on February 28, 2024, after Cori was diagnosed with HELLP syndrome, a serious pregnancy complication involving Hemolysis, Elevated Liver enzymes, and Low Platelets, requiring an emergency C-section delivery.
The premature birth meant an extended stay in the NICU, where the infant remained in an incubator for months. On January 6, Cori had celebrated her daughter's homecoming with an Instagram post: "She's home. Thank you for every prayer, every message, every ounce of love. God heard them all."
The joy was short-lived. Following her daughter's death, Broadus expressed her shock, writing: "20 days later?! Dawg im sick."
Family Support and Public Response
Cori's fiancé, Wayne Deuce, also shared his grief on Instagram, posting a photo of himself holding Codi with the caption: "I been the saddest since u left me Codi Dreaux. But I know u at peace. Daddy will always love you."
Cori Broadus is Snoop Dogg's youngest child and only daughter. The rapper has four children: Cori and sons Corde, Cordell, and Julian. When Cori announced her pregnancy in December 2024, she revealed it was unplanned but that her parents were excited, though Snoop Dogg had been hoping for a grandson.
The family had been open about the high-risk nature of the pregnancy from the beginning. Cori had shared during her pregnancy announcement that doctors were "very concerned" for both her and the baby's health.
This tragic loss highlights the ongoing challenges faced by families dealing with premature births and the complex medical conditions that can arise from such circumstances.
